In the year 2052 society has collapsed, but people still need bacon, underwear and headphones. These items have to be delivered. As a long haul driver for the mysterious delivery service DUMPLORD X-PRESS (or DLX), your mission is to ensure that these items get to the people who ordered them.

DUMPLORD X-PRESS is a transmedia project: A serialized half-hour adult animated series and video game. Tonally it’s more in the vein of classic horror/sci-fi/comedies like Repo Man, but with the gonzo caricaturization of something like Garbage Pail Kids or Mad Magazine.

LOMAX is a long-haul driver for DLX. He possesses that special kind of genius only a dipshit could have: all thoughts and feelings, no actual knowledge. He believes that he and his mind are two separate things, and that when he’s confused, it’s just his mind trying to sabotage him. He thinks that automatic doors are secretly trying to close on him.

Needless to say, he’s not the sharpest crayon in the knife drawer, but he’s a dutiful DLX Driver and he does his job without scrutiny.

CHAD is Lomax’s dispatcher. In the world of DLX, the dispatchers are really who make or break the drivers; a good dispatcher can get you high commissions on safer routes. Unfortunately for Lomax, Chad’s a total dick, making an already challenging gig even shittier for him.

Lomax finds XYLOZOR inside of one of his delivery crates. Xylozor is a feral punk who doesn’t speak any recognizable language and has an insatiable appetite for rats. Lomax ends up being the unwilling caretaker of Xylozor, but it doesn’t last long because Lomax inadvertently kills him.

Since Lomax has opened his cargo AND killed the contents, he’s now officially a deserter from DLX and a murderer, so DLX sends DOBERMANDY to hunt him down.

Dobermandy is stop-loss for DLX, doing repo on lost/stolen packages. She’s an outcast from a cannibal cult, but she still eats people, so she’s made a deal with DLX that if she captures Lomax and brings him to justice, she gets to eat him.

LOMAX lives a simple, rule-following life as a DLX delivery driver in a shithole world. However, he’s had it with the near-death chaos he has to endure every time he makes a delivery. One day he decides to bribe CHAD (his asshole dispatcher) to help him get safer, higher-paying commissions.

To his shock and amazement, IT WORKS! Lomax has a much more lucrative, easier go of things … for a while.

WELP, that all goes to shit when one of Lomax’s deliveries ends up being ALIVE. Lomax opens this living shipment (a big no-no for DLX drivers — A CRIME EVEN!), releasing XYLOZOR, a toxic, feral mutant who makes no sense to Lomax and is completely unhinged.

But if you think is this gonna be some kinda Baby Yoda situation, you’re wrong, because Lomax ends up inadvertently KILLING XYLOZOR, so now he’s in deep shit: He’s a deserter from his own company, he technically stole one of his shipments, AND he’s an accessory to the death of … whatever Xylozor was.

In the midst of all of this chaos, Lomax is flushed further down the toilet rabbit hole when he receives an ominous message FROM HIMSELF FROM THE FUTURE! Too much of a ding-dong to understand even the present, the concept of his future self presents a new existential horror to Lomax that only further complicates the insanity.

Everything comes to head when DLX sends DOBERMANDY to repo both Lomax and his stolen cargo. With no other options, Lomax makes a desperate deal with her: If she’ll give him some time to figure out who the hell Xylozor was and why Lomax sent himself a message from the future, he’ll let Dobermandy eat him.
